Pachacuti work with rural Andean women who are economically, geographically and socially marginalised, to create hats that are distinctive in many ways. As “slow” fashion pioneers, they have sought to add a twist to what is classic and to bring enduring design to seasonal trends to provide their customers with truly sustainable luxury. Designs which look good not just from season to season, but from decade to decade, and styles with longevity made from fine quality materials. All the brand’s materials are consciously sourced from their environmental and social impact, to contribute to a more sustainable design aesthetic. Pachacuti strive itself on the fact that it operates as a Fair Trade organisation, meaning their designs are partly based on the capabilities of their associate women artisans. Different communities weave different styles and grade of hat; therefore, they ensure they are providing work for every weaver in each collection.
