Inspired after a trip to Kenya, Aspiga was created to bring the beautiful handy work of local artisans to an international marketplace. The hand crafted bags and sandals are made primarily in Kenya, but more recently in India too, by talented local women who use their knowledge of their ancient craft. All products are made in small community manufacturing plants, which adhere to strict ethical work policies that involve fair wages, respectful practise and a minimum working age. Aspiga also act in an ethical manner by paying their suppliers good prices and helping them with cash flow by paying deposits and their bills on time! The brand is permanently creating much-needed jobs for the locals and revenue for their community.
