Ruda Rings

At the small studio of her flat in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, designer Janice Perez hand produces her unique rings. It is a true artisan process, from the sketchbook to the finishing product, resulting in contemporary jewellery made of Brazilian hardwood. The woods are obtained from demolished buildings or noble discarded furniture, such as desks, cabinets, benches, beams and roof liners. Another element that differentiates each ring is the gem that is inlaid before the ring is carved. There is no stoning, which enhances the natural colours and shapes of the gems, sourced form 35 countries. Once carved, the rings are hand polished with carnauba wax, and then delivered to the buyer with a small tin of this wax to encourage the longevity of the piece, contributing to its sustainability! The packaging is made of recycled coffee sacks, with a vegetable casing sleeve that protects the piece during transport.
