Esencia effortlessly combines two cultures; Bolivia and Peru’s long standing tradition of high quality textiles alongside Japan’s integrity of designs, resulting in a unique brand intended to inspire modern people aware of natural and simple living. Their beautiful knitted products are made using the craftsmanship of indigenous female artisans from the Andes region, with materials sourced from the finest alpaca and llama fibres and organic pima cotton. Alpaca fibre is warmer and more durable than sheep’s wool and is as silky as cashmere, while llama fibre has elasticity, strength and advanced thermal qualities. The brand will only cooperate with suppliers who value the principles of fair trade and sustainability, therefore all production is Fair Trade Certified, allowing the artisans to overcome the economic and social struggles associated with living in such a rural part of the world.
