An acronym for ‘All Light, All Shadow’, Alas is a Sydney-based organic sleep and loungewear label that represents the nature of change; day to night, sleeping to waking. Their enigmatic prints and relaxed silhouettes reflect the phases of the moon and the movement of the tides to remind us that everything is connected, which alludes to the idea of transparency in their supply chain. Their wovens factory unit in Jaipur, India was carefully selected due to it’s “big-hearted, but small-sized” nature, and all garments are made in-house using sweatshop-free, fair labour standards. Equally, their knit factory in Tiruppur, India employs 30 local machinists, patternmakers and garment checkers, with a heavy focus on creating a positive and productive working environment, and again complies with fair trade standards. Alas also use AZO- and formaldehyde-free, low impact dyestuff for solid dyeing and printing to protect the health of their staff and the environment.
